Module 1 ยท Lesson 1
Cells, rows, and columns
Navigate a worksheet and understand cell coordinates.
A worksheet is a coordinate grid
Columns run vertically and use letters. Rows run horizontally and use numbers. Where they meet is a cell, and every cell has a unique address.
B4 = column B + row 4Move without losing your place
Use the name box, arrow keys, Enter, and Tab to move precisely. The active cell has a visible border and its address appears beside the formula bar.
- Enter normally moves down one row.
- Tab normally moves right one column.
- The name box can jump directly to an address such as H25.
Key takeaway: A cell address combines its column letter and row number: D7 means column D, row 7.
